A Celebration of UK Engineering Research & Innovation

A group from CSAR recently attended the event " A Celebration of UK Engineering Research and Innovation ". This was an exhibition held on the 17th of November in London, Docklands. The show ran as a part of the international review of engineering research in the UK undertaken by EPSRC and The Royal Academy of Engineering.

CSAR had a stand in the theme of under pinning technology where it displayed work on engineering based numerical libraries, visualization and the combination of the two virtual engineering. The group took a large, stereo projective system to the exhibition on which interective visualizations were shown. The display system was immersive and acted as a virtual environement. Many of the visitors particulally enjoyed flying through the CERN tunnel. The stereo effect making many duck to avoid the "walls" of the tunnel.
