Withdrawal of Turing Service

This is a reminder that turing is to be retired from service this month on 31st December 2003.

Please ensure that you have moved your data from turing to a local machine or another CSAR system by 31st December. PIs should also ensure that they have traded their resources on turing by this date as resources will not be transferred to another system automatically.

Please contact CSAR if you would like any assistance or have any queries about the transfer of your code or data.

HPCx Virement

Users of the HPCx Service are reminded that the EPSRC end date for Virement Requests to use CSAR instead or as well as HPCx, is December 31st. If you have a good scientific case for virement and need assistance with the paperwork, please contact your PI and the CSAR Help Desk as soon as possible.

Newton Temporary Directories

The current policy for files kept in temporary directories on Newton is that they will be removed after 10 days.

CSAR User Survey 2003 - Winner!

Thank you to all of you who took part in the User Survey for 2003.

Dr Andrew Hogg of the University of Southampton was the winner of the prize draw.

Helpdesk over Christmas

Although the University is closed from 24th December to 5th January, the CSAR Helpdesk will be available for queries by email only (csar-advice@cfs.ac.uk) on the following days over the Christmas break - 24th, 29th, 30th and 31st December and 2nd January.
