Usage Report Notes

General

• Usage for the current month may be subject to change at the end of the month when accounts are audited and reconciled.
• All displayed figures and totals are subject to rounding errors.
• Information given in the reports is based on daily snapshots.

Chargeable Disk

This shows the charge which has accrued against the project allocation of disk. Disk resources are decremented according to project quota * time, not actual usage. Quota levels are sampled daily. This information is only available at the project level. PIs may find this information useful to monitor the rate at which chargeable disk is consumed.

Disk Usage

Please note that the disk usage information for the SAN disks is not currently available.

Users can look at their disk usage using the du and quota commands on the machines themselves.

The following is an example of how the information in the usage reports is obtained:

Quota used = 103MB

Yearly (if usage remains constant) = 0.103 GBYears

Daily = 0.103/365 = 0.00028 GBYears

Conversions

Please note that when opting to convert figures to gigabytes the information given is subject to rounding errors.

Generic token values are based on the prevailing exchange rate at the time of usage, not at the time of obtaining the resources via the trading pool. It is therefore inadvisable to use generic tokens as a measure of usage against original allocation.
