Reminder: Withdrawal of fermat interactive use

Users are reminded that wren is now the interactive CSAR Origin system. Interactive access to fermat will be withdrawn on Tuesday 4th March.

Please contact csar-advice@cfs.ac.uk should you experience any problems.

CSAR Focus

The Winter edition of CSAR Focus is now available online.

CPMD

CPMD is now available on turing, fermat, green and wren for licensed users. For further information please see our CPMD software page or contact csar-advice@cfs.ac.uk

MPT

The latest version of the message passing toolkit (MPT) is available on wren, fermat and green.

To switch to using this module, type module swap mpt mpt.1.7

New features within this release:

• MPI_Win_Lock and MPI_Win_Unlock are now supported, this should allow full use of MPI 1-sided communications.
• The MPI_NAP environment variable is supported, which controls the way in which ranks wait for events to occur.
• MPI and shmem strat up times are again reduced.

Totalview

We now have Totalview version 6 available on wren.

In order to access this version please consult the Totalview webpage.

At some point in the future this will become the default version of Totalview.
