Monitoring Jobs

Information on the use of the LSF batch scheduling system is available by looking at the LSF section of the website. Useful commands which you may wish to use are:-

  • bsub - The bsub command is used to submit your job to the batch scheduling system.
  • bkill - The bkill command is used to remove a pending or running job from the batch queues.
  • bjobs - The bjobs command can be used to determine the status of your pending or running jobs.
  • bhist - The bhist command can be used to determine the history of your current or recent jobs.

The command qs also gives information on the current status of the machine at the last scheduling cycle (approximately 4 minute intervals). The information contained here includes a list of running, pending and recently finished jobs and the output from the table can be used to determine likely wait times for any jobs which you have in the queue or are about to submit. The information from the qs command is also available on the machine status pages.
